Samantha looked curiously at the egg, her bloom waving through the wind. It had suddenly appeared beside my own with nothing but a carefully written note telling us to raise it well. She looked up into the morning dawn and wondered for the umpteenth time if Arceues or some other God of life had chosen her to take it in.

Compared to her unborn Chikorita's egg, it was enormous. Who had left it here? She returned her soft gaze to the Ruby shell containing some sort of life. Her eldest child, Sacha scooted beside her to look, in a trance, as if the egg were hatching. "I wonder what it could be. It's red so maybe it's a fire type?" Samantha suggests, and shudders at the word.

Fire. Every grass type in Viridian forest trembled with fear at the thought. Especially the winged ones with talons and beaks, they would fly away plucking up every small Pokemon they could either burn or carry. What were they called again? Maybe it was...

"Talonflame."

"Pardon, dear?"

"Perhaps it could be a Fletchling. Almost identical egg pattern, though this one seems to be a bit large to suit a Robin." I flinch. He was right! "Feyñaro, Por favor, ven aquí, maestro," Sacha calls, and soon, our Spanish-Kalosian housemaid Feyñaro came prancing in, a book in one hand, a duster in the other.

The book title read, Ancient Tails of Time. It was a popular folk lore book about Reshiram, Zekrom, and their decipals. The Hawlucha always had it with him, being that it was his favorite. At times he'd even read some of the less violent tails to Peek, the youngest daughter.

"Sí?" Feyñaro asked kindly with his thick accent piercing the spring air. His breath smelled of Oran berry juice and just a hint of fried ice cream, a southern Kalosian delicacy.

"Still no idea of what it could be before it hatches?" Feyñaro, hesitated, and after a bit, he finally began to flip through a few pages in Atot. When he found what he was looking for, he held the book out for the family of Meganiums, Bayleefs, and Chikoritas to see.

On the old paper, there was a print of a Scarlet egg, surrounded by a large orange dragon as well as a salamander like creature. Feyñaro began to read the passage that followed as Matt, Samantha, Peek, and Sacha all stared with a puzzled glint in their bright brown-green eyes.

"This the egg of a magnificent reptile, Charmander, which evolve into Charmeleons, and lastly, Charizards. In their final form, they are known to grow as tall as eight feet tall and weight as much as 300 pounds. They may burn down forests and cities with their powerful flame abilities. Charmander eggs are Ruby with beige spots around the center." Feyñore closed the book, and blinked. "Sí, I'm sure this is a Charizard's egg."

Matthew dramatically raised his massive foot above the egg. "If we let it hatch, it'll kill us!" He shrieks, but Samantha nudged him madly before he could bring his foot down to crush the life inside.

"Don't! Xerneus brought us this egg! I just know it!" Giving in, Matt slowly returned his foot to place. Suddenly, the Chikorita egg began to rock. Then, soon, as did the Charmander's. Everyone huddled around the eggs as they cracked simultaneously. "Matt! You and Feyñore take over the orange thing! Sacha and I will will manage with the new baby girl!"

Before rushing to her child, she ordered Peek to sit by eat some berries while they got to work. Peek nodded and devoured most of the Berry stock in the household. Boy, did she have an appetite.

Samantha burried her muzzle into new Lusha's young
Lime fur. Sacha smiled at his new little sister as his mother cried happily.

Nervously, Matthew poked at the reptile. "Don't worry, señor, it's too young. If you raise it right, it'll never hurt us."

Matthew sighs, "I guess we really did need a change in the denhold, huh? I guess this is it." The Charmander clung to his leg. He smiled.

Indeed.
